Report: Elaine Chao Held Roles At CCP Agency While In Bush, Trump Cabinets

The scope of China’s influence on the former U.S. cabinet official and her family is clear and has been for a long time.
The Federalist highlights a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation alleging that Elaine Chao received at least four Chinese government or affiliated organizational appointments beginning in 2008. According to the report, some titles involved organizations linked to the Chinese Communist Party’s United Front Work Department and overlapped with her service in the Bush and Trump cabinets.
The article raises questions about potential conflicts of interest, disclosure of those appointments, and the Chao family’s business relationships in China.
Foremost Group spokesman Patrick O’Connor denied that Chao ever held a foreign-government position or acted on a foreign government’s behalf. He described some recognitions as honorary titles she may not have known about and criticized the reporting as racially motivated. Whether Chao received compensation for the alleged roles remains unclear.
